We were all in a bit of a rush to catch out plane, and I don't think everyone had read Dad's itinerary well enough, because there seemed to be a cue for the toilet and the shower. On top of that, Dad was trying to stuff everything into our suitcases to get things out of the way, while Mum was ripping it all out again and jamming the 'extra stuff' in a laundry basket because she didn't want to deal with it all in Dunedin. (I think I saw one set of phone cables be packed and unpacked about three times, tee-hee).
Michelle and Amelia get acquainted while Lucy and Regan get ready. Baby! |
Everyone was a little worried that Lorna wasn't awake, because no one had heard from her yet; but she seemed pretty well pulled together when finally she emerged - and Aunty Lucy was keeping herself busy by dusting the entire house; washing, ironing, and folding all the washing, and wiping down the kitchen and the stove (in amongst feeding Amelia and all): looking back on it now, it must have really thrown her off some, to be down one laundry basket which was being used by Mum and Dad for playing hide and seek with the phone cables and extra underwear.
I myself was up early, (because I was excited to be heading down to see Niccy-Niccy); and with all the adults running around like headless chickens, I took it upon myself to have a pottle of yoghurt and a giant chocolate Easter egg for breakfast.
Once Mum and Dad had agreed on the contents of their suitcases, Mum hung out with Amelia while Dad took a long ponder in the bathroom, and Lucy and Regan got themselves sorted out to go...
...I took the opportunity to catch up on some light reading, cause right now; I'm trying to tell the difference between consonants and vowels.
Charlotte Teaching Herself to Read
Dad was having trouble driving on the left again after being in Canada for so long, and managed to scrape the lamp post outside Lucy & Regan's house, with the fender of Regan's car. Regan just laughed, cause apparently, it's not the first time Dad's done something wrong with a motor car while Regan was watching him drive. (Dad says he's better of with planes).Long story short (as my Dad says, cause he tells long stories) we made it to the Airport on time. Dad parked the car in about three different spaces, and once he'd finished baking bread; he joined us on the bus to the Domestic terminal (where everyone else was waiting)...
Look out Niccy-Niccy - heeerrrrrrrreeeee weeeeee cooooo000000000ooooooooommmmmmeee!!!
Tigga-sends.
