Cheese Rolls in Teletubby Land

After our 32 hour oddyssy from Halifax to Auckland, Charlotte was a little reticent about getting on another plane for some far off land called Dunedin.
Regan and Amelia were dog tired after another night awake crying (Amelia, not Regan), and following the late night at Waiwera and the early morning start ~ who could blame them? Having a new baby is tough when you're all struggling to get enough sleep.
Charlotte had just become aware of the fact that children were often asked to get up and hand out hard candy to all the passengers aboard Air New Sealand flights, and was just about to ask if she could do it too, when Lorna exclaimed; "Bloody hell, look at it - it's freakin' Teletubby Land!"

...little did she know, the 'Teletubbies', were cattle...

There was a bit of hustle when we arrived at Dunedin International Airport ("International" when the Brisbane arrival on Tuesdays) because the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has followed us down on the airways in the RNZAF Boeing, which was now taxiing in behind us, and required the airport to be cleared before they would open the hatches.
We promptly collected our baggage, hurried on by a few enthusiastic Police Officers hoping to catch a glimpse of Kate's new dress, and headed to the car rental desk to collect the keys for our respective piles of rusty bolts.

We drove past the giant Molly-wood sign (Mosgiel) and down Gordon Road, past the gas stations where I worked for a time, and Poo Corner (named on account of the public toilets there) where all the cool kids used to hang out (illegally) during the lunch hour.
We found a cafeteria that looked open and even managed to find a parking spot for the half-dead rental right outside.
"C'mon," I said to the Canadian girls, "You've gotta try one of New Zealand's best loved culinary delicacies--the Cheese Roll."

While munching on our first helping of cheese rolls and sipping our flat whites (and a chocolate fluffy for Tig), Lucy, Regan, and Amelia pulled up outside.
"We're going up the hill to Dad's," Lucy said. "You guys should come."
"Nah," we said. We were keen to get to Marg's and agreed we'd head up there during the week when we had our gumboots unpacked. In any case--we were happy to be here.
