Restigouche Canoe Trip ~ Halifax to Fredericton

-->
Warm weather in Canada is a precious commodity because the winter is so long and the summer is so short - that's why we jumped on the opportunity to come to paddle the Restigouche River that marks the boundary between New Brunswick and Quebec.

Unfortunately, that's also when we are at our busiest at work - flying around the clock 24/7. In fact, we’ve been so busy at work lately, we couldn’t be sure we would even be able to go on this trip until about a week prior to departure.

Flying by Alma, NB, located near the Fundy National Park.

But whatever—we’re not going to let work stop us from having a good time.

Having already traveled from Halifax to Moncton, Moncton to Moncton, and Moncton back to Halifax, I returned home late afternoon to load up the car and drive four hours, through Moncton, to Deb and Philip's place in Fredericton.

Even though it was a Saturday, my day started at 4am that morning, and we didn't get to Fredericton until 12am the next morning - but work was finally behind us, and everyone was looking forward to spending a few quiet days together on the river...

...especially, Charlotte, who had been missing her Dad after a couple of hectic weeks in the aeroplane.

While it was far too late to be landing at our friend's place at the beginning of a holiday, it was all we could do, not to be cheated out of an extra day of holiday.

Charlotte was a real trooper and handled the long ride up the line with her usual grace and charm, "When are we going to get there?"

"When are we going to get there?"
